Pouch, gum, mint or oral strip?
Compare the physical format, contact pattern and disposal needs before transferring a formula or claim between product categories.

A pouch contains a formulation
A non-dissolving oral care pouch is a small portion held within a permeable material. The outer pouch and the contents must be evaluated together. It is different from a travel pouch that stores a toothbrush, and it is different from an oral film designed to dissolve. Instructions must say how to use and dispose of the specific product.
Compare use, not just ingredients
Gum is chewed, a mint dissolves, a strip forms a dissolving film, and a pouch usually retains a carrier structure. These differences affect contact, release, mechanical behavior and likely exposure. An ingredient shared by two formats does not establish the same result in both. Systemic absorption should never be assumed from the presence of an ingredient.
Select a development route
Choose a format by consumer use case, ingredient feasibility, pack requirements and the evidence needed. Review accidental swallowing, choking concerns, tolerance, intended population and consumer instructions for the finished product. A nicotine-free formula is not a reason to position a pouch for children.
Working checklist
| Format | Physical use | Development question |
|---|---|---|
| Pouch | Contained portion with retained fabric | Release, wet strength and disposal |
| Gum | Chewed matrix | Chew behavior and release |
| Mint | Dissolving solid | Dissolution and hardness |
| Oral strip | Dissolving film | Film strength, dose uniformity and moisture |
Use this in your project
Keep this worksheet with a project code, version and review date. Assign an owner to each unresolved item and link the response to the relevant sample, supplier document or test report. Share a concise brief through our project enquiry before transferring confidential files. The result of review determines the final scope, specification, quotation and next decision.

Project questions
Can I use this as a finished product specification?
Use it as a development checklist. A final specification needs defined methods, acceptance criteria, approved versions and responsibilities matched to your project.
What should I send first?
Send the target country, intended use, ingredient or flavor direction, preferred pack and estimated quantity. Detailed confidential material can follow through an agreed controlled channel.
